Characterize It (#7): The Mr. Darcy

The Mr. Darcy (Male character that acts standoff-ish at first but really is attracted to the female character)

*tries to remember as many books as possible*

Fitzwilliam Darcy (Mr. Darcy) FROM Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Guy Chambers FROM Fire & Flood by Victoria Scott

1) Why not go with the one this theme was named after? Darcy's the classic example!
2) Yup...I'm still not a huge fan of Guy, but this does fit!

Which male character do you think is standoff-ish but really likes the female character?

  1. Ooh, that's actually a tough one! (Mind you, I have a horrible memory about books unless I'm reading them at that moment.) I liked Sam from Life in Outer Space by Melissa Keil. I'm not sure if he's a Mr Darcy, because I haven't actually read Pride & Prejudice, buuut, Sam was definitely too nervous to approach the girl he really liked.

    1. (I'm the same way! I always have to look through my Goodreads "read" list.) Hmm, I haven't read that, so I have no idea.

  2. Ohhh! That's a great pick! I am planning to pick this book up today! So I'll definitely be looking to see Mr. Darcy characteristics in Guy! And haha! Yes, Darcy is the perfect example of... DARCY! Lol! Great picks! :-)

  3. This is hard! I can think of lots of females who are stand-offish and then come around, but not as many Mr. Darcys. The only one I've come up with is possibly Ron Weasley toward Hermione. Does that one count?

    1. It is! Hmmm...I guess so. I feel like it's weird to say that because I mean, they are/were friends but fought often...I don't know! It's a hard one. :)
