The Big Black Hole (A character possessing great depth)
This one was a hard one, partially because I had to try to think about which characters possessed great depth and then which characters were more lacking. It's hard to draw the line! There are so many characters I would include on this list, and it's so hard to decide, so I've decided to play it safe and go with the choice that will (almost) always work.
Basically every character in Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
Yeah. You probably guessed that one. ;)
The thing is, even if we don't always see the depth her characters possess, particularly in Harry Potter, Rowling had intricate backgrounds and stories around almost every character in the books, if not every single character. She understood and wrote her characters with this deep understanding and depth. There are plenty of characters that portray this depth in the series, but there are plenty that only have small roles. Yet, it would be safe to bet that almost all the characters in Harry Potter were well thought out and written.
Which character do you think possesses great depth?
I chose Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices! Not a big Harry Potter fan, but I do see where you're coming from!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the series yet, so I can't say anything about that choice! :) This was just the first choice that came to mind, to be honest. There are certainly many other characters.
